Memory care questions

Is memory care the same as a nursing home?

No. Memory care is usually a separate unit or community with controlled exits, for people living with dementia. A nursing home provides skilled nursing care. Ask a clinician which level of care fits.

Does Medicaid pay for memory care?

Not directly, Caring.com says, though some states' Home and Community-Based Services waivers help with some services2.
